Facetmobile Recovery:
The original Facetmobile (N117WD) rested in the EAA Chapter 96 hangar for many years. Ever since I got fully settled in Independence I have wanted to retrieve N117WD from its long-time home in California.
This September, fellow EAA Chapter 292 members Ernie Moreno and Steve Sands volunteered to help and the three of us made the trip to bring the airplane to Oregon.
The Facetmobile is now safely settled in my hangar in Independence.
Huge thanks to Ernie and Steve! I could not have done it without them.
Thanks also to Williams Soaring Center in Williams, CA who let us park the Facetmobile safely overnight at their wonderful gliderport on the way home.
BatRay Build Status:
I have driven lots of rivets since the last update. I’m happy to say that both wings are fully riveted together, and I am about half way through riveting up the center body structure.
This box contained 2500 rivets when I started building.
I am pleased that you recovered the original Facetmobile. I bet that took a load off of your mind. Keep the progress going on the BatRay, can't wait to see it fly!
Thanks for the update.
